Our Philosophy: Uncompromising Quality
Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry believes that quality is more important than quantity. Towards that goal, we have partnered with some of the best eyewear brands. We have highlighted some of the brands below. This is just a small example of our huge selection and you really must visit our beautiful establishment to receive the full experience.
Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry believes in supporting independent businesses both locally and internationally to ensure that manufacturing skills in the optical industry lives on.
March 2023 UPDATE: Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry has made some very important changes to the sourcing of our frames as a result of the last 3 years of running our office and experiencing patients’ high satisfaction with certain brands as well some patients’ frustrations (and our own frustrations) with certain brands. As a result, in the next 5 years, Morgan Hill Eyecare will slowly reduce our sourcing of frames made in certain countries known for poor craftsmanship. At the end of the 5 year plan (an ironic name, we know, we paid attention in world history class), we hope to only carry somewhere between 5-7% of our frames to be made in these countries. Part of our decision also stems from our drive to only source our products from manufacturers who observe responsible labour practices and do not violate basic Human Rights. We can not reduce our partnership to 0% with these brands as a result of agreements we must adhere to with various insurance companies.
We are meticulous in our eye for attention not just in the products we carry but what frames we will accept from our patients into which we will put lenses. Moving forward, Morgan Hill Eyecare will increase our rejection rate for patients’ own frames into which they wish to put new lenses. Currently Morgan Hill Eyecare does not charge a fee for a patient to use his/her own frame and we wish to keep this the same. Patients should be aware that frames that have become brittle, stripped screws, or have broken/unreliable parts may take longer to have lenses fabricated and installed due to the extra care and attention required by our labs or the lab located at Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry.

Eyevan™ and Eyevan7285™
Eyevan™ has a storied history of making some of the most well designed eyewear in the world. Eyevan™ burst onto the eyewear world with a bang in 1972 when Oliver Peoples™ (when it was an eyewear retailer and not an eyewear designer) brought Eyevan™ to the United States. In 1985, the relationship between Oliver Peoples™ and Eyevan™ ended. Eyevan™ and Eyevan7285™ are handmade in Sabae in Fukui prefecture, Japan using both artisan handcrafted techniques married to high end technology and a Japanese philosophy of meticulous quality control. To try to describe the aesthetic of Eyevan™ and Eyevan7285™ would do the eyewear a tragic injustice. They must be seen and felt. Come on in and see for yourself. Ray•Ban™
Ray-Ban™ (two words, hyphenated) was founded in 1937 when the United States Air Force asked the Canadian company Bausch and Lomb to develop a lens to “ban the rays” blinding its high-flying pilots. The United States Air Force had technical requirements that the new sunglasses fit underneath a helmet and had large cutaways to fit a pilot’s oxygen mask. The iconic “Aviator” sunglasses were invented as a result. The rest is history. Ever since, Ray-Ban has found its eyeglasses worn by celebrities, world leaders, and the common man and woman. Whether it’s the Wayfarer™ on Tom Cruise in Risky Business or the Clubmaster™ on Lyndon B Johnson while signing the Civil Rights Act, you can bet that the Ray-Ban brand, its eyeglasses, and sunglasses will be at the center of human history for centuries to come.
Oakley™
We have brought Oakley™ to Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry. This popular American sports brand has been making high quality sunglasses and ophthalmic glasses for decades. Known for high quality sunglasses at its beginning, we are bringing the ophthalmic line first to Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry. We expect the sunglasses line to follow shortly.

MODO™ Eyewear
Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry is proud to be partnering with MODO™ Eyewear to bring you their incredible line of paper thin block titanium faces (for strength), screwless hinges (no more backing out/lost screws), and titanium temples for flexibility and comfort. MODO™ was founded in 1990 to bring cutting edge technology to the eyewear industry while remaining affordable. The technologies found in MODO™ eyeglasses/sunglasses make their frames incredibly lightweight measuring in the single digits of grams while the average pair of glasses from fashion house designers weigh around 30-50 grams. Their frames are mostly made in Japan and their Brooklyn line is made in New York. MODO™ also sponsors a Buy One/Help One program that is completely different from Warby Parker’s.
