We accept plenty of insurance plans. The following is a small sample of the insurance plans we accept. Please have your policy subscription number ready over when making the appointment over the phone or enter it into the “notes” section when making your appointment via the website. If you don’t know it, we can still look up your information at the time of your visit.
1) VSP
2) Spectera (United Health Care is the Spectera “parent company.”)
3) Superior Vision
4) MES (Blue Shield of California plans are administered through MES).
a). In early 2023, MES was purchased by Eyemed. We do NOT take Eyemed but we do take patients who had MES in the past who have been “folded in” to Eyemed. However, patients who have previously had Eyemed are not accepted at our office.
5) Cigna Vision (this is oftentimes outsourced to VSP).
6) Avesis
7) Flexspending / Health Debit Cards / Health Spending Accounts.
8) Various Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (Blue Cross of California, Blue Cross of North Carolina, etc). We do not accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
9) AlwaysCare (Unum, Colonial Life, Starmount)
10) National Vision Administrators (NVA). We are only contracted with NVA for the exam, not the glasses.
About Davis Vision: Davis Vision has formed into Versant Healthcare and as a result, service has ground to a halt. Doctors all across the country are complaining about long wait times, computer servers that do not work, payments that are not paid, and laboratories that will not make glasses. As a result, we WILL NOT work with Davis and have no interest in working with Davis Vision/Versant in the future. During Open Enrollment, we recommend consumers do NOT choose Davis Vision/Versant Healthcare. We understand that Davis Vision enrollees do not have many good choices in terms of choosing a vision health provider. We will accept out of pocket payment from Davis Vision enrollees and help patients file out of network. Superior Vision is also part of the Versant Healthcare umbrella company. We do accept Superior Vision insurance.
About Eyemed: Eyemed patients must file Out of Network, patient must self claim using this form. Aetna usually contracts their vision plans through Eyemed. At this time, we do NOT accept Eyemed or Aetna and patients would have to file out of network. Patients who love our service and frames may wish to call us in advance to discuss options.
We do NOT accept Blue View insurance through Blue Cross PPO. This insurance puts our office on their website as “in-network” but this is just to “show off” to their customers how vast their network is and to suggest a wide selection of choices. But what this actually means is that you can go here, pay full price, and then self file for reimbursement. So you have that choice.
Forms of Payment Accepted:
Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Touchless payment systems accepted include Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. We also accept cash and check. Checks are subject up to a seven day hold and any bounced checks will incur a $29 fee and any further services and materials may be subject to delay until the fee is paid.
We also accept CareCredit and all flex spending /health debit/health spending accounts.
Common Health Insurance and their Vision Insurance Outsources. If you have any of the following health insurances and can not remember the vision insurance, please use the reference below:
The following is just a guideline to the most commonly outsourced vision insurances. Your individual health insurance may be completely unrelated to your vision insurance company especially if your employer negotiated separate contracts for your health insurance and your vision insurance. It may be best to call your Human Resources department to determine your insurance company before making an appointment.
1) VSP: Principal Insurance. Kaiser. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Guardian (although some Guardian members use Davis Vision which we are not a provider for). United Health Care. Alignment Medicare (we are NOT a Medicare provider but if you have Alignment, you are in network with VSP)
2) MES: Blue Shield of California. Brand New Day.
3) Eyemed: Humana. Aetna. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
4) Spectera: United Health Care.
5) Davis Vision: Blue Cross. We do not accept Davis Vision.
