Changed appointment slot durations as a result of covid-19 cleaning protocols:
All exams are now one hour long appointment slots. We will see families in 30 minute exam slots back to back. The 1 hour exam slots are to allow our staff to disinfect the exam rooms in between patients. We ask that patients bring only necessary guests to their examinations (such as translators or caretakers or guardians in the case of minors under 18 years of age). If you are making an appointment online using our online scheduler below for a family, please use one hour slot for each patient even though we will usually only take about 30 minutes for each standard exam and about 45 minutes for a beginner contact lens wearer. Families can arrive all together instead of one hour apart.
Our Contact Lens Exam Fees (additional to our standard eye exam fee):
1) Simple Contact Lens Exam: $50 (not including any insurance discounts).
-This includes only spherical powers (no astigmatism).
2) Complex Contact Lens Exam: $70 (not including any insurance discounts).
-This includes contacts that require astigmatism, mono vision correction, multifocal correction, myopia control, etc.
Our Dry Eye treatment options:
1) Meibomian Gland Expression is a deep cleansing of all four of your lids using forceps to squeeze out clogged meibomian glands. This procedure is recommended for patients who have been diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and experience dry eyes as a result. Meibomian Gland Dysfunction generally occurs in patients who are female, post menopausal (advanced in age), experience dry eyes, and wear make-up. Dr. Nguyen uses Mastrota forceps to express the eyelids.
